Our support of the Voice to Parliament

We're supporting the “Yes” campaign on the Voice to Parliament referendum. We made this decision based on the support of national Aboriginal leaders, including Megan Davis and Tom Calma, as well as local support from the NSW Aboriginal Land Council.

We support a change to the Constitution, in line with the Uluru Statement from the Heart, to give Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples recognition, representation and a say about the policies that affect them. The Voice to Parliament is a step towards improving quality of life for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people by fostering more effective, informed, and just policies.

As a women’s homelessness service, our mission is to improve housing and health outcomes and we are especially hopeful about the Voice’s potential for closing the gap for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women experiencing homelessness on the lands on which we live and work.
